MKWD PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO GOVERNOR CATAMCO

August 1, 2019, MKWD pays Courtesy visit to the Honorable North Cotabto Governor at the Provincial Capitol at Amas, Cotabato.

With men and women of the Metro Kidapawan Water District and its Executive Body headed by General Manager Stella M. Gonzales a courtesy visit is conducted. In this momentous event one of the agenda of our Governor is to implement water expansion programs.

With the mandate of Local Water Districts and being implemented by MKWD led by GM Stella M. Gonzales to provide safe, adequate and potable water to its service areas even without a subsidy support from the Government is the same with the desire of Hon. Nancy A. Catamco to provide every family in the province an access to sufficient, potable, and safe water supply, despite the numbers of Water Districts in the area Gov. Catamco is now seeing into implementing expansion programs in communities, especially IP areas who often rely on springs even for drinking purposes.

Metro Kidapawan Water District (MKWD) led by General Manager Stella M. Gonzales,was asked by Gov. Catamco
to provide her an inventory of areas without an existing water system in the MKWD service areas, so that the provincial government could evaluate as to what intervention is needed to include in its Annual Investment Plan. Hon Board Member Onofre Respicio also made mentioned about Cost Recovery Measure or otherwise said that the Province will help through Cost Recovery Program, lending MKWD about Financial but MKWD will pay it without interest to include a livelihood program for beneficiaries..

Governor Catamco reiterated that “safe drinking water in every household is a must” adding that the MKWD should also conduct a massive campaign with regards to the conservation of water, protection of water sources, as well as the danger of the use of deep wells to the environment, especially if it is not properly regulated.GM Gonzales, is also mentioned that with regards to massive campaign of conservation of water, MKWD is implement such and informed that annually the district is conducting competitions to different schools in its service areas.
