MKWD CULMINATES NUTRITION MONTH WITH A COOK FEST

The people of MKWD even us believes that water is life and nutrition nourishes life. In short, with proper food intake and water, “Life is nourished.” With the Nutrition Month Theme “Kumain ng Wasto at aktibo, Push natin ‘to.” As we all know that National Nutrition Month is an annual nutrition education and information campaign. It focuses on the importance of making informed of food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits and to create greater awareness on the importance of good nutrition in our daily lives.
 
July 31, 2019, is a merry day to MKWD men and women once again. It is the celebration of Metro Kidapawan Water District to celebrate the culmination activity of Nutrition Month and a Cook Fest is held. The Cook Fest is spearheaded by the MKWD Women Employees Association. Before the Cook Fest, a simple program was held at the covered court. GM Stella M. Gonzales opened the activity and Dr. Alfredo S. Villarico, BOD Chairman gives his message to the chefs of MKWD.
 
Different Departments of MKWD was represented by its four (4) dynamic chefs: Board Of Directors/Office of the General Manager, Finance Services Department, Commercial Services Department, Maintenance Department, Water Resources and Production Department, Engineering and Construction Department, and Admin. and Human Resources Departent. After the message of Dir. Villarico, the panel of the Board of Judges was introduced, they are: Ms. Evelyn D. Villarico, RN, Nursing Director of Madona Medical Center Inc; Ms. Ma. Estela E. Lamata, President of Youth Builders and Mothers Association and PLT Razel Enriquez, Kidapawan City PNP.
 
Each group is given 2 hours to prepare 1 main dish, 1 appetizer and 1 dessert. The challenge is to use what is provided in the mystery box. The mistery box of consist of vegetable and other ingredients and the other condiments is brought by the participants. The criteria for judging are composed of Palatability consist of 50%, Originality 30% Presentation is 20%. Top 5 winners of the Cook Fest, 5th Place Engineering and Construction Department, 4th Place Board Of Directors/Office of the General Manager, 3rd Place Maintenance Department, 2nd Place Commercial Service Department and the 1st Place (Winner)Finance and Services Department.
