MKWD as a Local Water District follows the mandate Under Presidential Decree No. 198 or the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973, one or more cities and municipalities may form local water districts to meet the water needs of local communities. while Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is an agency of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) responsible for implementing national policies related to Firefighting and fire prevention as well as implementation of the Philippine Fire Code (PD 1185), which has been repealed and replaced by the New Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514).
MKWD and BFP as mandated by law is in unison in serving the needs and welfare of every individual. with the present scenarios, MKWD and BFP are partners in implementing such.
Recently, August 7, 2019) the City Fire Marshal Marjorie Jenna Resurreccion and BFP Kidapawan Team Leader Hailyn Fernandez paid a courtesy visit to MKWD General Manager Stella M. Gonzales. it has been discussed that BFP will conduct some training about safety and Fire Prevention. GM Gonzales said that MKWD is a partner of BFP in doing such, in fact last March in the Water Consciousness Month of MKWD falls also the Fire Prevention Month and MKWD is conducting and doing some drills and trainings in coordination with BFP Kidapawan.
