Purok Rambutan Families in Brgy. Linangkob Gain Reliable Water Access as MKWD Completes Expansion

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Access to clean and reliable water has officially improved for the residents of Purok Rambutan, Barangay Linangkob, following the final inspection and formal turnover of a new water system expansion project on February 24. The initiative, valued at โ‚ฑ287,065.80, was implemented by the Kidapawan City Local Government Unit (LGU) under the technical supervision of the Metro Kidapawan Water District (MKWD) Construction Division.

The infrastructure project involved the installation of 198 meters of 50mm uPVC pipes, along with the integration of two sets of interconnection and looping systems. These technical components are specifically designed to stabilize water pressure and ensure service redundancy, providing a more resilient and consistent supply for the community. Construction on the expansion began on November 28, 2025, and reached full completion on January 18, 2026.

The turnover activity was conducted in the presence of Restituto B. Baron Jr., Engr. Nolie II S. Caballero, Jonathan C. Agbon, and Engr. Rodulf John B. Renegado on behalf of the Operations Department; Engr. Krishna Leigh V. Eda and Engr. Anecito M. Paรฑa Jr. representing the Technical Services Department; and Engr. Kelvin E. Rupisan of the Commercial Services Department. They were joined by Kgwd. Romeo Estrella of the BLGU Linangkob Council and BPAT Member Erroll Arabejo, who served as the official witnesses for the ceremony.

Engr. Christine H. Lape, who served as the project-in-charge, supervised the implementation to ensure all works adhered to the district’s strict technical standards. Following this formal turnover, MKWD has now assumed full responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the new distribution lines.

This project is a key part of the continuous effort by the MKWD and the local government to expand water service coverage and improve delivery to various barangays. This initiative reinforces the districtโ€™s mission to provide potable, accessible, and unlimited water services across its entire jurisdiction, ensuring that more households benefit from reliable utility infrastructure.
