Metro Kidapawan Water District (MKWD) emerged as a top contender at the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) Fun Run, a national event spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Region 12 and held simultaneously across the Philippines on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The Koronadal City leg, hosted at the City Hall Grounds and themed “Takbo para sa mga Servant Heroes,” saw MKWD dominate with victories in sports, dance, and mascot competition.
MKWD athletes led the pack in the 5 Kilometer run: Anthon John Divinagracia Muñoz claimed 1st Place, while Larry Jay Zuyco secured 3rd Place. Their wins underscored MKWD’s commitment to the national “running for service” movement, aligning with CSC’s vision of servant leadership across all government agencies.
The district’s mascot, Kid Tubig(Reymark M. Pido), stole the show at the Mascot/Cosplayer Showdown, earning dual honors as Best Serbisyo Hero Mascot and Mascot of the Crowd. Kid Tubig symbolizes MKWD’s mission to provide clean water—an essential service that reflects the “servant hero” ethos celebrated nationwide during the PCSA.
In the dance arena, Emma Concepcion N. Campoamor of MKWD was crowned Zumba Queen, her dynamic performance capturing the joy and unity of the national celebration. The event also featured a vibrant program, including an opening Zumba session, a prayer led by Ms. Shaiyne C. Languido, and the Philippine National Anthem was played. Director III Atty. Hannah D. Examen welcomed attendees, followed by inspiring messages from CSC Chairperson Marilyn Brua-Yap, CSC Commissioner Ryan Alvin R. Acosta, and CSC Commissioner Luis Meinrado C. Pangulayan, who emphasized the role of civil servants as “servant heroes” in nation-building—a message broadcast across all regional PCSA events.
MKWD’s delegation, including Maricel S. Belasa, Junvalh B. Arenal, Marysol T. Abing, RJ P. Ibloguen, Fairyssa D. Afinidad, and Rudolph F. Estrella, actively participated in the day’s festivities, embodying the spirit of teamwork and public service. For MKWD, the 125th PCSA was more than a race—it was a testament to their dedication to serving the community, mirroring the spirit of excellence across the Philippines. As the event concluded, MKWD employees left with renewed pride, ready to continue “running” toward a future where every household in Kidapawan thrives— a goal shared by civil servants nationwide.
