MKWD EXPANDS BOSS KABIT TO FOUR MORE BARANGAYS, 95 ADDITIONAL FAMILIES GAIN WATER ACCESS

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Transforming the way essential utilities reach the public, the Metro
Kidapawan Water District (MKWD) has facilitated water service applications for 95
additional families across four barangays in its latest outreach rollout. The expansion of
the BOSS Kabit (Barangay One-Stop Shop Kabit) program underscores the District’s
commitment to ensuring clean water is both affordable and accessible.

The visit to four barangays on March 2-6, 2026, brought in 36 applications from Brgy.
Kalaisan, 34 from Brgy. Sibawan, 13 from Brgy. Perez, and 12 from Brgy. Sudapin.
Combined with the initial event in Brgy. Singao, a total of 124 families have now taken
advantage of this simplified application process.

The program’s impact on daily household life is substantial. Reymond Arandilla, a resident
of Brgy. Sibawan, expressed his gratitude, noting that the arrival of the BOSS team in their
neighborhood provided a critical opportunity for his family, who had previously faced
challenges due to their distance from the city center and a long-term lack of stable water
access.

In Brgy. Sudapin, applicant Maricel Caballero shared that her family previously relied on
neighbors for water, a daily burden that complicated preparing her child for school. The
current β‚±550 downpayment anniversary promotion proved to be the deciding factor in
making the connection finally viable for her household budget.

Local leaders have also lauded the initiative’s community-first approach. Barangay
Chairman Nilo Barette of Kalaisan commended MKWD for bridging the gap between the
utility and the public, stating that the District has effectively made water services a reality
for more residents by bringing administrative processes directly to the barangay level.

The BOSS Kabit framework utilizes a streamlined workflow that integrates one-on-one
orientations, document verification, and onsite payment processing into a single,
convenient session. This approach is a proven success in reaching the community. The
MKWD BOSS Kabit team is currently identifying additional locations for the next round of
visits, ensuring that even more communities will benefit from this one-stop service model
in the coming weeks.
